Where in the World is Matt

Okay, I know you've all probably already seen this video, but I just got high speed internet and can watch YouTube videos with ease for the first time and I'm having too much fun with it. Besides, I get the warm fuzzies everytime I watch this.

Now if I can just find where the world map is still packed so I can turn this into a school project!

I hadn't seen it! Loved it-- but would like to know the story behind it...

It's a great story. His website is www.wherethehellismatt.com

Basically, he got tired of working 12-hour days in front of a computer screen (he designed video games). He quit his job and spent his savings on a 6-month tour of Asia and a few other places.

He friend who tagged along said, while video taping in Vietnam, "Hey Matt do that dance you do." So, he did the dance and did it everywhere they visited as a way to remember the trip.

When they got home, they put it up on the web. People started linking to it and it was a hit.

Then he got a call from STride Gum and said they'd finance another trip for another film.

Then they did it again.

It's a sensation. Too funny!

My family loves this video. It's appeal is a little hard to describe, but I don't know anyone who has watched it all the way through who hasn't ended up smiling and watching it again.

Thanks! Amazing how these stories go. I keep wishing there was something more... a message he was trying to convey; and yet, it may have ended being a superficial one. There is a refreshing simplicity in the video, and an interesting geography lesson! :-)

I could see so many messages ... dancing alone in fields of flowers, solitude on the sand dunes of Australia. And then the absolute joy conveyed by each group that danced with him. Somehow I could "see" the joy that God has written in the hearts of all men! Thanks, Maureen ... it made me smile down here in Peru.
