Happy Endings

Okay, I admit it. I've never read The Princess Bride, but I love the movie!

Look. (Grown-ups skip this paragraph.) I'm not about to tell you this book has a tragic ending, I already said in the very first line how it was my favorite in all the world. But there's a lot of bad stuff coming.

If you've seen Toy Story, you'll recognize the voice of the dinosaur is the same guy as the short man in The Princess Bride. It was so funny because we had never seen him before but when we watched Princess Bride, we instantly recognized his voice.

Oh, the book is goooooood. It's satirical, and it's really written by S. Morgenstern, edited by William Goldman. If you've seen the movie, it is based on when he was the sick boy who's father (or was it grandfather? I forget, it's been 20 years since I read it! ACK REALLY!?!) read it to him.

I read the edited version, as my library didn't have the unedited version. We also didn't have internet access, so no Amazon.com or Half.com...

Sigh. Princess Buttercup really wasn't a very smart princess in the book, and they do get in an arguement at the end of the story. The book is a smash! Well written and edited.
