I think I'm going to enter the Erma Bombeck Writing Contest. If you scroll down past the contest rules, you can read last year's winners. They're sooo good (get a Kleenex first!).
I've never entered a writing contest before and, even though my chances are slim, I think it'll be fun. Linda says I should either enter (with a little editing, of course):
Rocking Baby Boomers
or
Thank You Lord for Girlfriends
Opinions please!

I loved the first one.
There's a story that I know came from you but I'm not sure whether you wrote it or just shared it on our Catholic homeschooling loop...it was about visiting a fair's World Population booth. I think it ended with the guy running after, saying, "It's not too late!" I loved that story. *smile* love, Dani
Oh gosh, that was a funny story. It was actually Kim's story that she shared with all of us on the loop. But I took it and made it into an article for OSV. I'll have to post that sometime soon.
Here's the funny part -- that article generated my first hate letter. It began, "Dear Mrs. Wittmann, You make me want to puke!" I knew then, I was a real writer :-).
Go for it. I love Erma Bombeck. When I was in high school, I did some humorous speech stuff with her material. She was so sweet and funny.
